Find and replace

Replace every occurrence, plainly or with a regular expression, and see how many replacements were made. Capture groups work in the replacement, so $1 and $<name> do what you expect. Regular expressions run on a background thread: a pattern that would otherwise lock up the tab gets stopped and reported instead, which is the difference between a tool that hangs and one that tells you your pattern is the problem.
